TASK No.4:

Developing a Video Tutorial with computer generated audio commentary

 

Procedure:

This is an improvement of procedure given in Task No.1

        

          The text given in blue color is added to the procedure given in Task No.1

Step 1:  Develop a presentation (using software such as Microsoft Powerpoint) on a selected topic

Step 2:  Decorate the presentation and incorporating graphic images / video clips wherever required

Step 3:  Incorporate audio commentary by recording audio within the presentation software or

             by creating a separate MP3 audio file (using sound editing software such as  “Goldwave”)

             If suitable human voice commentary is not possible,  computer generated audio commentary may be provided using

             the software tool "TextAloud-MP3"  which uses Text-to-Speech engines such as Microsoft, AT&T, etc.

             Suitable speech font may be selected after necessary trials.

Step 4:  Arrange slide transition and animation to the text, graphics and audio with proper timing

Step 5:  On your desktop, click on Start / Programs / Accessories / Entertainment / Volume Control

             in the volume control window,  click on options (first item) click on properties and click on "recording"

             out of the items shown as Microphone, Line in, CD player, Wave-out mix, Stereo mix, 

             select Stereo mix or Wave-out mix.  This selection may depend on your operating system, please the test

             the sound recording in the final video file after step 6 below and change the selection if required.

Step 6:  Play the presentation and capture the screen proceedings into a AVI file by using screen capture

             software such as Camtasia Studio (www.techsmith.com) or any other screen capture software

             that can be downloaded from websites such as www.download.com.

Step 7:  Using Camtasia software, convert the AVI file to WMV file to play small video file in computer.

             Using Camtasia software, convert the AVI file to Flash file to host the same in Internet.

Step 8.  To play the video in TV using VCD/DVD players, convert the AVI/WMV file into

             MPG/VOB file using Ulead Video Studio 10 software (www.ulead.com)

             or TMPGEnc software (www.download.com)
